- "LP" link press is available to first move the slide toward the workpiece at high speed, and then get the work done at low speed before quickly retrieving the slide. As the slide slows down upon moving to the working zone during the stroke, the vibration, noise, and heat generated from the friction between the workpiece and die and much less, when compared with those crank presses. Consequently, die service life is prolonged and operating environment is improved as well. Further, upon drawing, the effective working area is wider than that of crank press, thus reducing the pressing processes. For example, conventional cross-shaft press requires 2-3 processes to complete the deep drawing, while the "LP" only needs 1-2 processes, enven incase of rigid workpieces. Production rates are not adversely affected by the aforesaid change is stroking rates.
